Campaign against rising co2 emissions
Saturday,12 September 2009 by Lisa Whaley
Hi I am Lisa and I am a new blogger, so my apologies if this is a little rough around the edges!
I want to tell you all about a really exciting discovery I made about how you can campaign against rising carbon emissions.
I am part of a volunteer youth coalition network called; UKYCC. Some of you may be familiar with this incredible and hard working campaign group. It aims to put pressure on the government to make and keep to particular aims to reduce climate change, in the run up towards the Copenhagen agreement happening in December 2009.
As all of you will probably agree, now is the time to take action on climate change, but how? Well I have good news for all of you as on the 24th of October something amazing is going to happen, called 350. This day is designed to put a mark in people’s minds of the importance and relevance of this number. It represents a safe amount of parts per million of co2 in the atmosphere, before we all experience runaway climate change. The founder of 350, Bill Mckibben explains that; We need to return from the current amount of 387ppm of co2 in the atmosphere to 350ppm! This is an international movement with Mumbai to New York taking action. However the more people involved, the bigger the message will be… so this is where you come in!
There are so many ways to incorporate 350, from t-shirts to artwork, to huge cycle rides. The opportunities are endless, 350 just needs to be shouted about - maybe 350 times!! So what would you do?
What are your thoughts and ideas on this? Let me know if you would like any more information. I would be so happy to help you become part of this amazing day.
It’s time to make a BIG mark and a BIG difference. It’s down to you.
LETS GET A HAPPY ATMOSPHERE

Hi Lisa,
I am coordinating a world wide project for 350 and I have been looking for representation in the UK. I am wondering if I could send you the project description and perhaps you could help me get the word out on this project? Please let me know if this would be possible!
Thanks,
Ryan
