Shared planet took place in Birmingham. Shared planet is one of the biggest student conferences in the UK. The event had various speakers which are all dedicated to stopping climate change happening. At Shared planet there were stalls, rallies and other stalls. (more…)

Hi, my name is Taz and this is my first blog of a series I am writing for the Newcastle Uni newspaper. This blog focus’s on our culture and how and why it should be more ‘green’. When I think of culture what usually springs to mind is stuff like an appreciation of the arts, dressing up in a tuxedo and going to the theatre. Then I think about it a little bit more, and realize that no, that’s not the case. These days our culture doesn’t manage to even reach those pretentious heights, and is infact, how can I put it, gash. (more…)
